• Avoid wearing tight-fitting, synthetic clothing (e.g., panty hose) that does not allow air circulation. Wear loose-fitting clothing made of cotton and other natural fibers until the infection is healed.
• Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, nose, or mouth.

What is clindamycin vaginal?

• Clindamycin vaginal is an antibacterial medication. It fights bacteria in your body.
• Clindamycin vaginal is used to treat vaginal bacterial infections.
• Clindamycin vaginal may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Who should not use clindamycin vaginal?

• Do not use clindamycin vaginal if you have had an allergic reaction to it.

• Wash your hands before and after using this medication.
• Insert the cream or suppository into the vagina using the applicator as directed.
• Use this medication continuously for the prescribed amount of time, even during your menstrual period.

• If the infection does not clear up after you have finished one course of therapy, or if it appears to get worse, see your doctor. You may have another type of infection.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and apply only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not use a double dose of this medication.

What happens if I overdose?

• An overdose of clindamycin vaginal is unlikely to occur. If you do suspect that a much larger than normal dose has been used or that clindamycin vaginal has been ingested, contact an emergency room or a poison control left.
